Upright citizen

Sorry that I haven't been regularly updating this sucker... I guess I'm losing interest. I'll try harder in future, I promise.
The weekend.
Friday afternoon was time for the regular work drinks at Sweeny's, only this time Boggle, Tristan and Ross came along. I got drunk.
Like really drunk. Embarrassingly so. I didn't drink that much, like only 5 pints and a scotch maybe... maybe even 4 pints... but I was wrecked. I guess it was because I hadn't eaten that much... but I didn't eat that little either... so yeah. I got drunk. I ended up staying till 11:30pm maybe, and then had to go home... I was just too drunk to hang around.
We had plans on only having a few drinks (as Ross and Tristan had things to do Saturday morning), and Boggle and I were going to head back to Ryde Eastwood Leagues for cheap drinks (I was tight that week...) and to watch that crazy Asian lady dance... needless to say, that didn't happen. So I feel a little bad about that coz we were going to meet Jon there too... so Jon ended up not going out... sorry man.
So I got home at about 12:30am maybe, talked with Jon for a bit, and went to sleep. Delicious sleep. The next day I was to meet up with Mum and Pete for a day of activity (including looking at cars for Mum). It was nice, and I ended up staying for dinner with Mum too, as Leanne was near enough to pick me up from there (she'd spent the day down south with Jill)... but we had to go back to Jon's first as I didn't have shoes or pants... that sounds bad... I thought I'd get into the summer vibe and wear shorts and thongs. The only shorts I had were board shorts, and my thongs broke when I was out that day (not even a year old!). So that sucked. So we went back to Jon's, and we ended up putting on the Underworld Live DVD, and getting our funk on. By the time we'd done all that, the party at West Ryde had already near enough to died, so we just stayed at Jon's... sorry guys. Wow, so many apologies this post.
So I need to get me some new thongs... or do I? I do have a spare pair up at the Hunter... and it won't be long until I no longer have the Hunter... so maybe I'll just use them. Or maybe I won't. Who knows. What a wild and unpredictable world we live in.
Sunday was most definately a beach day. Leanne, Jon and I headed up to Pennant Hills for breakfast. Mmmm... not healthy breakfasts.
Jon didn't want to go to the beach, so Leanne and I headed over to West Ryde to pick up Brendan and Boggle. We decided to go to North Avoca. A trip to the beach was just what the weekend needed. It was awesome. I love summer... don't get me wrong, I love winter too... but
summer is kickass. And so is the beach.
In true beah tradition, we decided to go get some burgers/fish n chips. Man. Big fuggen burgers, $8 big to be precise. I woudl have been happier with BBQ sauce, but they were still good burgers. Nice soft buns (ooooh sexual), runny egg (awesome), tasty patty... anyway, I'm sure you get the picture... they were good. And for no real reason, they came wrapped in aluminium foil, which was a whole new level of burger fun.
I didn't really get burnt, except for the passenger arm.. ah, good ole passenger arm. A testament to my loser-ness.
And both Monday and Tuesday I worked.
Did I tell you that I'm growing a moustache for movember? I started late (the 9th), but Ben, Josh, Zach and I are keen to do it. There was a guy up on level 20 that's doing it, and he inspired us. We didn't set up a donation account (which defeats the purpose of doing it), so I was going to post the link to the level 20 guy to rally support... but I don't know his link. Maybe I'll post it tomorrow.
This weekend is the TZU and Porkers concerts... unfortunately it's also the High School reunion and the Propellerheads concerts too... I've already made my decision though; two nights at the Annandale Hotel. TZU and the Porkers it shall be. And it shall be awesome too. Stoked. I love live music.
And, with that, I shall leave you.
Have fun people.

Friday afternoon

It's a funny time in the office, Friday afternoons... I wouldn't describe them as productive. Everyone is eager to just knock off and have a beer... I'm actually meant to knock off at 5:15pm today (as to make up my 40 hour week), but as everyone will be knocking off at 5pm to go to the pub, I imagine I will be too.
So I'm far too focussed on a cold beer to even consider working at the moment. Besides, I need to print something, and last I checked the printer was out of action... so, what can I do?
So I sit here, eager to leave, listening to Opeth (I fucken love metal), waiting for 5pm.
SOLO!
DOUBLE KICKS!
ROOOAAARR!!!
Metal is my friend.

Stoopid email

So the other day I wrote a post on the train and emailed it to Blogger. It still hasn't appeared. So that sucks.
There is a post saved in my draft folder that is an attempt to catch up on what I missed, but I don't know if I can be bothered typing up something that happened so long ago now... I probably should. I mean, what else am I going to do?
I just finished a task at work, and I'm currently kicking back and relaxing until someone tells me that I should be doing something... so maybe I should do that post now.
Anyways.

Ketchup

(Get it? Catch up... not funny)
I'm waiting for Matt to get back from Lunch so that I can get him to export me something... so in the meantime I thought I'd put a post up.
Sooooo.... where were we?
Ummm...
Uhhh...
Gimme a sec. I'll go check.
Wow. Nat's BBQ. Well, it was awesome. Nat drank (he rarely does), and was a funny bastard because of that (not that he isn't funny otherwise). Alas, it's been so long, I can't really be bothered typing all the details...
CANDIED DUMMIES!
The week after that... hmmm, let me think. I don't really think it was that eventful. I don't really remember it, so it mustn't have been.
So, onto last weekend.
Went dancin' on Friday night with Leanne. Was good fun. My faith in "e" is still slipping though... so maybe next time I'll just do speed (cheaper, less consuming) and see what that's like. Ended up crashing at one of Leanne's friend's houses... and was dropped back in the city early afternoon. Got something to eat, and headed back to Jon's for a nap.
That evening we (Jon, Alex, Leanne and I) were to go to a Butterfingers concert... Butterfingers are awesome. This time, however, was less so. For no fucking good reason the prick of a bouncer didn't let Alex in. He said he was drunk. What a fucking faggot bouncer. Alex hadn't touched a thing al day. I asked to do a breath test. They said no. I argued with them, they still said no. I wish I had remembered when I was arguing with them so I could have brought it up, but I completely forgot; Alex started work at 5:30am that morning... of course he looked fuckingn tired! You fucking faggot wanker! It ruined the whole fucking night (weekend even). I want to write a letter of complaint, and I'm certainly not fucking going back there for a gig. Fucking pricks. Blue King Brown are playing there this week, and they can get fucked if they think I'm going to pay for a ticket that doesn't even guarantee entry. Fucking wankers.
Anyway.
The next day we all (Jon, Leanne and I) met up with Brendan and Boggle to go see The Wrong Man. It was fucken cool. Fucken cool. A bit over-explanatory in parts, but in other parts I was thankful for it. Recommended. Definately recommended.
And then I worked all week.
I didn't end up getting that Cradle of Filth album last night (see the phantom email post...), so I'm hoping to get it next week some time. I did get Mum to bring down my homebrew kit, so I'm keen to get a brew going so that it will be ready before Jon leaves, and hopefully while Helen is still here.
Hmmmmmm yes... don't really know what else to say... kinda out of the writing mood, being at work and all...

Long time

Been a while, eh?
You probably could have guessed that I finally (what's so final about it?) remembered to bring my book. So my morning commute has been spent reading it, rather than posting a blog.
Anyways.
I'm pretty confident that the last thing I left you with was the Presidents concert. Pretty confident. How long ago was that? 1 week 4 days. I bet you've been lonely without a post for so long!
I don't really remember anything spectacular about the week after the Presidents, so I'll start with the weekend following (aka last weekend).
The weekend had been nominated as a "weekend of international festivities." Friday was a Southern Night, celebrated with Kentucky Fried Chicken (predictive text insists on the much less appetising Kentucky Dried Chicken), Southern Comfort and Coke (which was actually rather tasty), and the movie The Ladykillers (another wonderful Cohen Brothers film).
Saturday was celebrated with a trip to Ikea, in recognition of Sweden's recent performance in the "least corrupt countries" list. I might add that we also celebrated this with a plate of meatballs. Ikea is... odd. I can understand their crappilly made cheap stuff, but even their expensive stuff is crappilly made. What's the deal with that? Chipboard? Get over it Sweden. Or at least use the high grade stuff. Losers. And your meatballs were SUB-PAR!
For dinner, we decided to celebrate Australia's proud American heritage by going to the Outback Steakhouse in North Strathfield. I'd been to the one in Parklea before (for Pete's 19th) and thought it only average. On Saturday it was AWESOME. Most of us (us being Jon, Boggle, Brendan, Leanne and I) ordered the ribs, but Brendan got a Big Bugger Burger. We were all fucken stoked with our meals. They were the most tender ribs I've ever had; you didn't need a knife! You could just pull them apart as if they were perforated! Awesome! And the Bloomin Onion was awesome too. Oh man, I've just made myself hungry. Best part was that it only cost like $30 inc entree and a 650mL beer. Fucken A.
Sunday was Nat's annual birthday BBQ, but that story will have to wait as I just arrived at Town Hall.

Goth power

Wow. I'm REALLY liking Cradle of Filth lately. REALLY liking them.
You can call me Faerie Corpse from now on.
If you want me, I'll be in my room writing poetry. Just don't turn the light on if you come in, the light unbalances my fragile existence. Etc etc. I'm sure you get the idea.

Dollar Bills

Ah dammit! I just checked my statement. I DID get $100 out at Kitchener. Ah nuts. That means I spent about $130-150 at Pubfest. I knew $50 was way too cheap.
Dammit.

Back to the weekend

Now, where was I?
Did I finish telling you about Pubfest? I don't know, and I can't hear you. Gimme a second and I'll go check my sent folder. Be back in a jiffy. You won't even know I'd left.

Back now.
Ok, so Mike, Pete and I had just been taken away from shots at the bar. We them all piled on to the bus to go to Kitchener (I think). Wow. What a shithole. We stayed there for one drink. Ah dammit. I remember at ATM. I hope I didn't get money out. I thought I'd only spent about $50. I'd better go check my statement.
Anyway. That Pub sucked, and the barkeep looked like a mouse. We didn't stay long, and as a present for Pete I stole a XXXX sign for him. We all hopped on the next bus which was to take us back to Bellbird. The bus trip was so much fucking fun. We were all crazy, Peter especially. Man. Some awesome fucking photos there. I'll upload them for all of those that never saw them.
Bellbird was awesome. It was this part of the night where my memory starts to fail me. I remember buying drinks. I remember knocking my beer over. I remember grabbing Leanne's camera and taking photos of everyone under the guise of being a press photographer (I'm not sure anyone believed me). I remember buying a guy a drink because he posed for the photo. I don't remember anything else (except for the guy threatening me not to put his photo on the 'net that is). Looking through the photos afterward, it looks as if we were all having an awesome time. I don't know how long we stayed there, but as is expected, we did eventually go home. We patted the horse when we got back, but I don't know why. I remember putting on the Hybrid DVD, and getting funky. I also remember putting on some music and dancing like crazy... but I don't remember what it was. Actually, my calves are still a little sore from that. I remember having Tequila, lime and lemonade with Mike, and thinking that it was alright (probably the strongest sign that I was gawn). I remember having to sleep in Peter's shitty old bed because Alex and Ally were in mine. I remember blabbing on about the music I was listening to in bed to Leanne. And I remember waking up and not being able to sleep for hours because of all the sugar in my blood (or at least that's what I assume it was).
I slept in the next day. Breakfast was a rissole that had been cooked a few hours before.
Mike had to leave by about midday to go do some work for Renata, so he missed out on the photo viewing. That was an experience. Pete has already done the good thing and uploaded some to his myspace page (go check them out. He's in my top 12 friends list).
The remainder of us piled into Leanne's car to go home via Windarra Winery (I really like that place).
We couldn't really linger, as Leanne and I had a concert to go to (Jon hadn't yet bought a ticket). So we had a FnC lunch (Kath n Kim reference) in C-town, and headed down to Sydney. Smooth run, but the Cessnock exit is such a boring drive. We got to Sydney with only enough time to get a half hour nap in before we had to nick off to the concert.
I haven't even mentione what concert it is, have I? It was The Presidents of The United States of America, and it was fucken awesome. Unfortunately, there was a bit of confusion regarding the availability of tickets, so Jon didn't get to go (bummed). Leanne and I were to meet Ross and Tristan in there (Ross had just come back from NZ, and Tristan had picked him up from the airport). We missed a train, so Leanne and I were a little later than intended, but we missed nothing. The opening band were energetic but average. 20 (or even 30) years ago they would have been something interesting, but their music just came off as old hat. However, the Presidents were fucking super mega kickass, and we had a fucking great spot to see it all too. I've never seen a crowd sing as loudly and consistently as at that concert (well, one exception; Coldplay's "Yellow" at BDO 01). It was awesome. The crowd were just loving it, and what just made it that much better was that the band seemed to be loving it too! Yeah man. It was super kickass!
Exhausted we headed back home.
What a weekend!

RSS

Hi there. Quick update coz I'm bored (I'll see if I can type up the final half of my weekend update tonight, but my new HDD for my iriver arrived yesterday, so the installation of that is getting the priority...).
But anyway.
I just thought I'd point out a handy feature of blogger to all of you addicted to my blog.
Did you know that my posts are automatically linked with an RSS feed?
What does that mean? Well, it means you can easily subscribe to my blog and find out when I've updated it! Just use Firefox (or your favourite RSS feed subscribing application)!
So, in Firefox, click on the orange icon that appears in the address bar and it will open up a bookmark dialogue box. I recommend sticking the bookmark in the "Bookmarks toolbar folder" so that you can access it easily. When you click on the new bookmark, a slide menu will open up withg a list of my most recent posts, click on one of them to read it. How easy is that!?

Also, you may like to know that the PBF and spamusement websites also support this wonderful
feature!
Also, also, if you prefer IE, the new IE 7 will support RSS, and the new Yahoo! Mail Beta supports RSS feeds too. Mad fun. That is all.
